Class 3
Welcome to Class 3.
Hi! My name is Miss M Hughes and I will be teaching Class 3 (Year 3 and 4) this year. I am thrilled to be back in Class 3 this year. This will be my second year at Bickerstaffe and I am very excited to continue my journey within the school. I am looking forward to teaching my new class this year and creating some unforgettable memories.
Our School Day
Our school opens at 8:45am.
When coming into Class 3, you will expect to see lots of different morning activities taking place in the morning including handwriting, times table practice and maths recap activities.
Collective Worship
We end each day with our collective worship.
PE
Class 3’s PE days this year are Tuesdays and Fridays.

Home Learning
Homework
Class 3 will receive their homework on a Thursday to be completed for the following Tuesday. As apart of the homework tasks, Class 3 will receive a piece of math and English related homework to work on along with a times table focus for the week. In addition to this, Class 3 will also have a homework focused on bettering themselves including a helping others homework or trying something new to broaden Class 3’s experiences in the world.
Going for gold
To help with times tables, Class 3 will be completing their Going for Gold activities whereby they focus on one times table a week to master. Each week will test on this times table to see if it is mastered.

In Class 3 we are working towards perfecting our timetables knowledge. At home, the children can practice their times tables through listening to the video’s below.

In Class 3, we use White Rose Maths to support our learning journey and are currently following the mixed age scheme of work.
